Sonia Berrih-Aknin
Research Director Emeritus

Presentation
I have led a research team on the etiological, pathological and regulatory mechanisms of autoimmune myasthenia gravis for over 30 years. Since my recent emeritus status, the “Myasthenia” team is led by Rozen le Panse and I participate in the research activities of the team. I am particularly interested in the characterization of cell populations by mass cytometry, in the search for new biomarkers useful for prognosis and clinical follow-up, and in the development of new therapeutic approaches.
In total, I have published more than 120 original papers on Myasthenia gravis, and I have been very much involved in international research on this subject as coordinator of 4 European projects (FP5, FP6, FP7 and DG-SANCO) and one NIH grant.
